Welcome to the Animate Arts Program

Animate Arts is an undergraduate program combining visual art, music, video, and computing. You can navigate the system by clicking the collection links to the left. If you are an Animate Arts student, you can log in by clicking the Login link on the left.

  • If you're looking for information about our courses, choose one of the following:
    • ANIM_ART 101: Perceptual and Mathematical Spaces
      This is the introductory course. It has no prerequisites and is appropriate for people from all backgrounds. The course focuses on art theory, visual design, sound design, and basic concepts of computation. It is team-taught by faculty from Art, Music, and EECS.     • ANIM_ART 201: Perception and Programming in Time
      This is the second course in the core sequence. It adds concepts of moving images and more content on narrative. It is taught by faculty from Art, Music, RTVF, and EECS. See the AnimArt 201: Perception and Programming in Time
    • ANIM_ART 301: Interaction and Interactivity
      This third course, introduces concepts behind animation and 3D modeling. Animate Arts 301: Interaction and Interactivity
    • ANIM_ART 302: Culture and Connectivity
      This course looks more deeply into theoretical issues of media and culture. It also examines the issues and technology behind networking and networked applicaitons. Animate Arts 302: Culture and Connectivity
    • ANIM_ART 351: Senior Projects
      This is the capstone course in which you execute a two quarter open project of your choosing.
